Dualtron Mini Review

$1,499.00
The Mini sports a unique geometric aesthetic that is unlike any other scooter in the Dualtron line. Alongside its white on black finish and the rippling LED stem and deck lights, the Mini not only looks great but has the build quality to match. While it’s quick enough to make journeys fun and it sports a unique quadruple suspension system that offers plenty in the way of cushioning, the Mini does have some design quirks. For a scooter that is called the Mini, you’d expect it to be more portable. While the mountain bike-style handlebars are sturdy, they don’t fold, making the scooter bigger than expected when collapsed. Similarly, when folded it becomes longer than some of Dualtron's ultra-performance models. Overall, though, the Mini is an impressive scooter, but you are paying for the Dualtron brand.

Dualtron Eagle Pro Review

$2,290.00
I’ve reviewed quite a few Dualtron scooters and I’ve been relatively impressed with them all, so I had high hopes for the performance model, the Eagle Pro. There’s no denying that the Eagle Pro looks the part, with an all-black frame draped in white Dualtron branding and eye-catching stem lights. But, once you look beyond its flashy exterior, its value for money becomes questionable. Sure, its nippy acceleration is a lot of fun and it offers a pleasant ride on smooth tarmac, and the rubber suspension is great for carving, but the creaky, wobbly stem puts a downer on the overall ride quality. While the Eagle Pro was, for a while, a popular performance model, the release of new scooters has left it to fall behind the pack.

Dualtron Thunder 2 Review

$4,299.00
The Dualtron Thunder 2 joins the small, select band of ultra-performance scooters, but not only that, it looks to take the definition of ultra-performance to the next level with new benchmarks for power and battery size. Superlatives aren’t in short supply; the humongous 2880Wh battery will give more range than most will ever need and the 10,000W plus of power brings new meaning to the term peak power. Of course, no scooter is perfect and I found a couple of niggling points that might matter more to some than others.

Wolf King GT Review

$3,595.00 -5%
Introducing the Wolf King – but not as you know it. Though it may look the same, and do everything you love about the original King, the new (and much improved) GT ups the ante in a sensational way. With better range, specs, and features than the original – not to mention more pace and power – the GT is a brutally efficient addition to the congested ultra-performance scooter market. Along with the NAMI Burn-e, it’s one of our favorite scooters – will it be yours, too? Let’s find out.

GoTrax GMAX Ultra Review

$849.00
Looking for a great budget scooter but don't want to miss out on premium features? Then the GMAX Ultra could be precisely what you're looking for. For their latest model, GoTrax has moved away from its standard budget style and upgraded several crucial components. The result is a scooter that provides enhanced build quality, a smoother ride, excellent range, a digital lock, and a handy built-in cable lock system. Disappointingly, the GMAX Ultra's motor is on the small side compared to other scooters at this price. However, it comes with an LG battery that gives you up to 45 miles of uninterrupted riding per charge. This superior battery power combined with solid design, 10-inch air-filled tires, and intuitive controls means that the GMAX Ultra offers more than enough to justify its price tag.

AnyHill UM-1 Review

$599.00
The AnyHill UM-1 lets stability guide the ride with a scooter that is reliable, efficient, and a joy to use. The UM-1 nails its assignment as a budget scooter by delivering on every plane that we’d expect from a $599 purchase. Combining a sleek design with a user-friendly set-up, simple one-click folding mechanism, and surprisingly strong brakes, the UM-1 lets simplicity reign supreme. But most importantly, this scooter sports a valuable LG battery that is usually found in scooters of a much higher price tag. The LG battery treats you to hundreds more charge cycles than the average Chinese battery, creating a scooter that is durable and cost-effective. Overall, its performance, portability, and value for money aid its status as one of our favorite budget buys.

Apollo City 2022 Review

$1,499.00
Everything from the custom proprietary mold (which cost Apollo an eye-watering amount to make), to the integration of its many features - including a mobile app that unlocks extra layers of personalization, self-healing tires, an IP56 water resistance rating, powerful regen brakes, sublime one-click folding mechanism, and the best turn signals we ever tested - all combine to push the frontiers of the congested commuter electric scooter category into exciting new dimensions and deliver the City’s piece de resistance, its build quality. In line with the rest of Apollo’s models, the new City hasn’t been built to top the ego-driven charts of speed and range. Instead, it's been carefully designed with meticulous attention to detail to deliver a well-rounded balance of performance across all of the critical areas that we, at Electric Scooter Insider, pay special attention to when testing scooters.

INOKIM Light 2 Review

$999.00 -17%
I’ve reviewed a lot of INOKIM scooters, and I have to say that the Light 2 is up there with the best. For an ultra-portable scooter, there’s nothing on the market that can compete with the Light 2. Everything from the thin samurai-sword-esque telescopic stem to the curvature of the chunky rear fender and everything in between is expertly designed with functionality in mind. The telescopic stem, folding handlebars, and compact design make the Light 2 effortless to carry while the slightly swept-back handlebars, low-center of gravity deck, and 8.5-inch tires deliver a comfortable ride across urban terrain. Where the Light 2 struggles, though, is in its performance. Its low top speed and sluggish acceleration let it down somewhat when compared to other similarly priced scooters.

INOKIM Quick 3 Review

$1,299.00
After previously testing the INOKIM Quick 4, I had high hopes for its younger sibling, the Quick 3. First impressions were pretty good. It’s lightweight, well-built, and practical thanks to its folding handlebars, carry handle, and telescopic stem. Unlike the Quick 4, the 3 meets my precise criteria for a commuter scooter. For the most part, it offers a fairly decent ride. It’s not the quickest, but commuter scooters aren’t — and INOKIM isn't a speed-focused brand. The Quick 3’s thumb throttle deserves a mention too, which is excellent. While the Quick 3 nails the practical side of things, when it comes to performance, it struggles to impress. The lack of suspension, slow top speed, and at times uncomfortable ride hold it back. Price is no doubt the Quick 3’s biggest flaw. At $1,299, there are a bunch of other similarly-priced scooters that outperform it.

INOKIM Quick 4 Review

$1,499.00 -12%
Just as Porsche consistently wins the title of the best car manufacturer as a result of their premium design and quality, INOKIM delivers on the goods in the world of scooters. From the moment you lay your hands on the Quick 4, you can feel its superior build quality oozing out of every joint, lever and switch. With its head-turning design, smart LED display, automatic lights, portable frame, and dual suspension system, it comfortably glides through urban terrain. However, it’s biggest flaw is its deck. Measuring up at just 15.5 inches, it is notoriously short, and in some cases it’s even 11 inches shorter than similar scooters. Unfortunately, this hinders ride quality. Nevertheless, the Quick 4 has plenty of outstanding features to offer.

Mantis 8 Pro Review

$1,999.00 -9%
Expanding on the original Mantis 8 with more speed and range – not to mention superior stopping power and build quality – the Pro is a reinvention of the scooter we know and love. Equipped with an EY3 display, a high-quality battery, and a new-and-improved button panel design, the 8 Pro brings plenty to the table. But does it hold its own against the Mantis models already on the shelves? And does it offer enough features, freshness, and value for money to stand out in the already saturated mid-tier performance scooter market? Let’s find out.

Wolf Warrior X Review

$1,999.00 -5%
Thought you knew the Wolf Warrior? Think again. Led by a vision to make the original Wolf Warrior 11+ cheaper, slimmer, and more accessible to a wider audience of scooter lovers, Kaabo has introduced the all-new X. And let me tell you – the X isn’t content to sit around and let its big bro hog the plaudits. Taking almost everything we love about the classic Wolf Warrior’s design and features – and improving them – the X is a progressive, powerful scooter proving that performance doesn’t have to be pricey. The best bit? There are two models to choose from (the X and X Pro), with the X being the most affordable.

  1. Hi Gavin,

Thanks for your comment. I don’t believe GoTrax is releasing a new GXL any time soon. They do offer the GoTrax Apex, though, which is a better version of the GXL V2. You can read more about the Apex in my full review here.

  2. Hi Elijah,

  3. Hi Dan,

Great question! I’m going to be updating the page with a brand new list of the best long-range electric scooters in the next few weeks. Keep your eye’s peeled as the EMOVE Cruiser may make an appearance (spoiler alert…it does).

  4. Hi Dhiren,

Great question! I would opt for the Zing E8 for younger children. For teens, the E22 will be best. The E22 is too heavy for younger children.

    Thanks

    – Josh

  5. Hi Phil,

You can buy the ZING E10 directly from Segway, here.

  6. Hi Antony,

You are correct that the Wolf Warrior has a maximum mileage, under prime conditions, of 70 miles.

Eco mode limits you to about 20 mph so you should be able to take full advantage of the mileage.

Thanks, enjoy cruising around on the Wolf!

  12. Hi Arja,

Unfortunately, I only review the scooters – I don’t sell them. I hope you’re able to get your hands on the Mototec FatBoy. Let me know if you need any more help.

  13. Hi Michelle,

Traveling around Europe and exploring cities on a scooter sounds awesome! My advice would be to opt for a model that, like you said, is light, compact, and has a quick recharge time.

The Unagi Model One is the lightest scooter I’ve reviewed (it weighs just 23 lbs), folds and can be stored easily, and takes 4-5 hours to fully charge giving you 15.5 miles to cruise round the cities.

Alternatively, the INOKIM Light is another good option (30 lbs, folds, 4-5 hours charge for 20 miles).

Or, if you want a cheap model go for the GoTrax GXL 2 (26.4 lbs, folds, 4 charge hours for 12 miles).

    – Josh
